The JW Group (JWG) held a prominent role as part of the ITMP team developing the business and technical requirements for a number of systems. The plan provided the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority (SDCRAA) with an information technology strategic plan for the following five to seven years with an emphasis on the latest technology in consideration of planned expansion at San Diego International Airport (SAN).
Recommendations, costing, an implementation plan, a staffing plan and a detailed return on investment (as applicable) were developed for all IT related systems. As part of this ITMP, the team provided the business case and detailed justification for the SDCRAA to implement billing commercial vehicles (trip fees) through the AVI system. Technology recommendations and detailed business recommendations were developed and included in the study. The team demonstrated the benefits of common use technology by showing the additional turns per gate and passenger throughput the airport could achieve through a common use solution. The common use recommendations suggested the best locations (terminals and/or concourses) for common use gates, ticket counter and baggage devices based on the detailed analysis performed as part of the study.
