Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
The technology needs at Minneapolis St. Paul expanded significantly over the years. As the Airlines continue to reduce operating costs, the Airport was forced to take ownership of numerous antiquated technology systems. The JW Group (JWG) supported the Airport in a number of projects.
The project included the removal and replacement of 700 door and gate access devices with smart card and biometric technology. The scope included development of a phasing program to re-badge more than 16,000 card holders and integration with a point of sale and integration with an 800 camera CCTV system.
The project included the upgrade and replacement of CCTV systems (over 1,800 cameras)
To support the on-going technology requirements, the Airport developed a campus-wide, unified local area network to support the data distribution requirements of all technology systems. The JWG supported the development of the LAN by creating the design and procurement documentation to purchase, configure, and implement the network. Included in the implementation was the planning and integration activities along with the physical infrastructure to consolidate existing networks onto the new network.
