Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA
Following the recommendations of an Information Technology Master Plan completed by members of The JW Group (JWG), the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport (FLL) developed an initiative to migrate to a Common Use Passenger Processing environment. To support this new environment, members of The JWG performed initial planning activities, developed procurement documentation including cost projections, and provided critical support for the implementation of an Airport Information Management System (AIMS).
The JWG personnel performed an essential role in the planning, business justification, development of procurement documentation, and procurement support for the Airport Information Management System (AIMS). During the planning of activities, the team analyzed the existing facilities, including the communications infrastructure, to determine the ability to support a common use environment and to identify necessary upgrades. Following the analysis of the physical configuration, a business analysis was performed and justification documentation was developed. This analysis focused on the initial capital costs and ongoing maintenance and support costs and developed pricing methodologies to be utilized by the Airport to recover these costs. The business analysis also identified necessary modifications in the operational and business processes and procedures that were required to support the common use implementation.
