The JW Group (JWG) was responsible for the development of communications infrastructure requirements for the relocation of the Kenton County Airport Board (KCAB) staff members to a new Administrative Office. The relocation of the KCAB personnel included several areas around the airport campus with the main focus of bringing all KCAB personnel into a single commercial office building that was recently vacated. The communications infrastructure included a review and assessment of the communications rooms, backbone and horizontal cabling, local area network, and VoIP system. Recommendations were provided to KCAB presenting the modifications required to support the KCAB Administrative Offices relocation. A major component to the recommendation was an upgrade of the telephony system to a VoIP system. Specific communications infrastructure and relocation requirements were shown through the development of telecommunications floor plans and schematic/logic diagrams. Cost estimates were developed for all work to be performed.
